1. Purpose

Ophie is an AI wellness companion, and this community exists to support that: a calm, welcoming space where people can share experiences, encourage one another, and get help using Ophie. These guidelines set the shared expectations that keep the space safe and respectful for everyone. They apply across all of our official community spaces, including Discord, Reddit, the support forum, and our social channels.

2. Expected conduct

We ask everyone here to:

• Treat others with kindness, patience, and respect — assume good faith.
• Protect privacy: share your own story if you choose to, but never share someone else's personal information.
• Keep support peer-to-peer. Encouragement and lived experience are welcome; clinical, medical, or diagnostic advice is not.
• Follow the direction of moderators, who help keep the community safe.
• Respect that Ophie is a supportive companion, not a licensed professional or a substitute for professional care.

3. Prohibited conduct

To keep everyone safe, the following are not allowed:

• Harassment, bullying, hate speech, threats, or targeting any person or group.
• Illegal content, or content that promotes or facilitates illegal activity.
• Attempts to elicit instructions for suicide, self-harm, or harm to others — from Ophie or from community members.
• Impersonating Ophie staff, moderators, clinicians, or other people.
• Spam, scams, unsolicited advertising, or repetitive off-topic posting.
• Reverse-engineering, probing, or attempting to circumvent Ophie's safety systems, or sharing methods to do so.

4. Safety and crisis

This community is not a crisis service, and neither is Ophie. If you or someone else may be in danger, please reach out to trained help right away. In the U.S., you can call or text 988 to reach the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, or text HOME to 741741 for the Crisis Text Line. If someone is in immediate danger, call 911. Ophie is designed to recognize signals of crisis and surface these resources, but it cannot provide emergency intervention. When members raise safety concerns, our moderators will point to appropriate resources and may escalate as needed.

5. Enforcement

We enforce these guidelines proportionately and, wherever possible, with a chance to make things right. Depending on the severity and pattern of behavior, moderators may issue a warning, temporarily suspend an account's access to community spaces, or, for serious or repeated violations, permanently terminate access. Enforcement of these community guidelines is in addition to our Terms of Service, which govern your overall use of Ophie.

6. Reporting

If you see content or behavior that concerns you, please tell us. You can flag it to a moderator in the relevant space, or email us at support@ophie.app. Reports are reviewed as promptly as we can, and we do our best to handle them with care and discretion.

7. Appeals

If you believe an enforcement action was made in error, you may appeal by emailing support@ophie.app with the details. We will review the decision in good faith and respond. We want enforcement to be fair, and we take appeals seriously.
